Forest fire at Revsjøen in Femundsmarka on the Trøndelag side – NRK Trøndelag – Local news, TV and radio

It is burning in two places in the forest floor and in the vegetation in Femundsmarka by Revsjøen on the border between Trøndelag and Innlandet.

– It is about a kilometer in circumference. It’s a smoldering fire. It spreads and creates a lot of smoke.

This is what the fire chief in Trøndelag 110 central, Gunnar Sundli, tells NRK.

At half past three, the helicopter must have arrived and started firefighting work.

Surrounded by water

The fire service is not aware of what may be the reason why the smoldering fire broke out in Femundsmarka on Monday.

The fire chief, on the other hand, says that they do not see the situation as very serious, as the two fires are said to be surrounded by water.

– It is in a watercourse, so it burns between rivers and water, he says.

The forest fire helicopter will still spray with water until it is completely black, Sundli states.

On the Trøndelag side

It has been confirmed that the forest fires are on the Trøndelag side. This is what Arve Heimdal says in the fire service in the Inland, after locating the area.

– It seems that the fire service in Trøndelag is in control, and has recruited helicopters to contribute to the extinguishing work, says Heimdal.

Danger warning for forest fire

The Norwegian Meteorological Institute has issued an orange warning for forest fires in Østafjells.

It has been announced that the danger will decrease in large parts of the region, as heavy torrential rain is on its way.

In the border areas between Innlandet and Trøndelag, on the other hand, it will not rain in the first place.

Martin Hopstad Granerud was on a mountain hike at Store Svuku in Femundsmarka on Monday afternoon.

– It was clearly visible from the top, and I felt the smell when I got to the top, he says to NRK.
