Forest District Manager: “The adaptation of the forests to the climate is the mega-topic” – Staufen

As the new head of the Staufen forest district, Tobias Mathow sees himself as a link between the foresters and the authorities. A campaign of signs is intended to provide information about the work and tasks in the forest.

The forest district of Staufen, which includes eleven forest districts between Neuchâtel and Freiburg, has a new manager, the graduate forester Tobias Mathow. After his predecessor Michael Kilian became head of the district forest office in the Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district office in November, it took a few months before Mathow took over the desk in the former lower city palace in Staufen. BZ: You’ve been in Staufen for three weeks now, and there’s still a lot of wall space in your office. How did you spend the first time?
