Foreman The Sheikh Zayed Mosque (MBZ) owns it debt IDR 145 million to stalls in the project masjid finally paid off their debt. The repayment was made after PT Waskita Karya mediated a debt problem between the mosque project foreman and the shopkeepers who had recently been busy.

Apart from paying off the debt, the foremen, known as Sugiyantoro, Sunandar and Guntur Mustofa, also apologized to the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, for making a fuss over the debt.

“We, as the foreman, apologize profusely, especially to the Mayor of Solo, Gibran Rakabuming, for making such a commotion,” said the foreman, as quoted by PT Waskita Karya’s official release, Sunday (19/3).

The three foremen also admitted that the problem of debts had nothing to do with PT Waskita Karya. They emphasized that the problem was purely the business of the shop and the foreman and stated that they would pay off the debt on Saturday (18/3).

“I also apologize to Waskita Karya for this problem and thank you for bridging this meeting,” said one of the foremen.

“This problem has nothing to do with Waskita Karya actually, this problem is absolutely the business of the shop and the foreman because Waskita Karya has no problems,” he continued.

Meanwhile, Dian Ekasari, as the seller of the foreman’s forge shop, expressed his gratitude because finally the debt problems he was experiencing were resolved. He also stated that he did not intend to make Waskita Karya a bad name. He then thanked the company for mediating meetings with the foremen to resolve this problem.

“Thank you to the Mayor of Solo, Mr. Gibran and Waskita Karya, for helping and bridging this meeting. There was no intention at all to tarnish Waskita Karya’s name and make this case viral,” said Dian.

The Rp145 million debt problem arose after a stall owner named Dian admitted that three foremen of the Sheikh Zayed Solo Great Mosque project still owed money to his food stall. The debt also reached hundreds of millions of rupiah.

“Yes, the agreement at the beginning of the two weeks will definitely pay off,” Dian told reporters in Solo, Friday (17/3) as reported by Detik.com.

Dian said the three foremen had the initials N, G and G. The debt was calculated since the construction of the mosque starting in 2021.

“The debt of N is around Rp. 65 million, G is around Rp. 55 million, and the only G is Rp. 35 million,” he said.

But, until entering 2023, the debts of the three people have not been paid. Dian also complained everywhere because PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk was reluctant to pay off the food debts of the three foremen.

Project Manager for Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Solo, Adriansyah, claims that his party has paid off the payment to the contractor. Therefore, the problem of debt at the shop is not the responsibility of the company.

The debt also made Gibran, as Solo’s leader, furious. Gibran even stated that he would visit the three foremen if the debt was not repaid this week.

“Immediately this week, yes, mesakke (pity) that much money. Don’t be afraid wong e (I went to the person), Wis has (already had) a contact person, Waskita has helped with this,” said Gibran after attending the inauguration of Bappilu DPC PDIP management Solo at Taman Bandar Semanggi, Pasar Kliwon, Thursday (16/3) evening.
