Today’s JCI movement tends to follow the movement of Asian stock markets, which mostly move in the red zone, which tends to stagnate today.

Asian bourses that have closed, namely Japan’s Nikkei closed slightly down 0.06%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng edged down 0.07%, China’s Shanghai Composite edged down 0.03%, and South Korea’s KOSPI also edged down 0.03%. .

The weakening of the JCI also occurred amid a surge in new Covid-19 cases to a record high of 21,342 on Saturday (26/6/2021), and was still relatively high at 21,095 yesterday. Thus, the Ministry of Health recorded 2,093,962 positive corona patients in Indonesia.

In the last 14 days, the average number of positive patients increased by 13,748 people per day. It has more than doubled compared to the previous 14-day average of 6,540 people per day. The number of active cases recorded is close to 200,000, to be exact, 194,776 people. This is the highest on record since the pandemic.

The number of active cases shows the number of patients who are still being treated, both in health facilities and in self-quarantine. This data illustrates how heavy the burden is on the health care system.
