Foreigner Petition Protests the Rooster Crows Every Dawn in Bali Mediated, but Failed

A number of foreign tourists sent petitions to the South Kuta District government, Bali, because of this rooster crows every dawn. The district administration has mediated, but failed.

Reported detikBaliFriday (3/3/2023), the Peace and Order Unit (Trantib) of South Kuta District received complaints through a petition from 10 guests of foreign nationals (WNA) staying at homestay Anumaya Bay View, Jimbaran.

The petition filed on Thursday (2/3) was triggered by the sound of a rooster crowing which they considered disturbing the peace. Head of Trantib Section for South Kuta District I Kadek Agus Alit Juwita said the incident started with a Russian citizen who objected to a rooster crowing at his place of residence because he felt it was noisy.

Anumaya Bay View, he said, is homestay which has been around for a long time in the Jimbaran area. Even though he found it funny, Alit Juwita admitted that he had tried to mediate the wishes of the guests with the chicken owner named Made Yadya.

“Yesterday we tried to convey to Made Yadya so that the chickens would be relocated some distance from homestay that,” he said.

But Made Yadya objected. Mediation also failed. “Yes, we will see what the final decision will be. Will there be compensation or what, we will only mediate,” he said.
