In fact, today’s market sentiment is not good. Last night, the stock market of the United States (US), Wall Street closed in the red after the release of inflation data.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) closed 0.66% lower at 36,079.94, the S&P 500 shed 0.82% to 4,646.71, and the Nasdaq Composite fell 1.66% to 15,622.71.

The US consumer price index (CPI) reportedly rose 6.2% year-on-year (year-on-year/yoy), or hotter than economists estimated in a Dow Jones poll of 5.9%.

This figure is also the highest since 1990. On a monthly basis (month-on-month/mom), the CPI jumped 0.9% or above the estimate of 0.6%.

Apart from the US, the market is also worried about the latest inflation in China, where on Wednesday (11/10/2021) trading yesterday, inflation for the October period from the consumer sector (CPI) and the producer sector (PPI) was released and showed a significant increase.

The Chinese government reported CPI rose 1.5% YoY (yoy) in October, higher than the previous month’s 0.7% yoy and compared to poll results. Reuters against economists who predicted 1.4% yoy.

Meanwhile, China’s PPI also skyrocketed 13.5% yoy, higher than the previous month’s 10.7%. The PPI in October was the highest in more than 26 years.

Apart from inflation, the JCI’s increase of more than 1% this week has also limited the JCI to rise further. There’s even a moment of para trader start realizing the benefits aka profit taking.
