Tourists filmed a jeep on Kabakum beach in Varna. On Sunday evening, the powerful car with Ukrainian registration entered the beach, traveled 50 meters and almost reached the sea.
Although it was cross-country, the jeep got stuck in the sand and couldn’t get out. Police teams arrived at the scene.
“The owner of the car has been established – a Ukrainian citizen with the status of a long-term foreign citizen residing in the country. An act has been drawn up, a sanction of 1,000 to 3,000 BGN is to be imposed,” said senior inspector Dragostin Todorov, “Security Police” in the 5th RU.
The driver’s explanation is that when parking, the car drifted into the beach area. The woman was not tested for alcohol and drugs, as she was not driving the car during the inspection itself. According to the police, she was apparently adequate.
“According to the law, we must have a witness to confirm the driving of the car by the driver or to be established by the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” said Senior Inspector Dragostin Todorov.
The law on the organization of the Black Sea coast categorically prohibits the staying, parking and passage of road vehicles in the area of the beach strips. Exceptions are beach maintenance activities, as well as emergency rescue activities.
No such cases have been identified in Varna this summer.
