On April 9th, a foreign vessel with a depth of 10.2 metres departed from Payra Port in Patuakhali. This was the first time a larger vessel had anchored at the country’s third seaport. The ship, Aruna Hulya, flagged under the Marshall Islands, arrived at the port on Thursday, bringing with it 37,800 tonnes of coal from Balikpapan Port in Indonesia. After unloading its cargo, the ship departed for India. Another similar ship is scheduled to arrive at the inner anchor in the port within the week.
