Foreign Planes Parked at Kertajati Airport for Maintenance Purposes, Ministry of Transportation Clarifies

The virtual universe was shocked by the news that there were 2 foreign plane which has been parked in a year West Java International Airport (BIJB) Kertajati, Majalengka, West Java. The Ministry of Transportation provided an explanation.

Ministry of Transportation spokesperson Adita Irawati revealed the identities of the 2 foreign planes. Both are type A340-200 with registration F-HFDD and F-HLMG are French civil aircraft. Both aircraft have been at Kertajati Airport from 10 April 2022 to 23 May 2023.

“The two foreign civil aircraft left Indonesian territory on May 23, 2023 with the aim of Amman, Jordan (registration TZ-DTA and TZ-DTC) after obtaining Flight Clearance (FC) approval in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Adita, Saturday ( 3/6/2023).

Then, what is the purpose of the plane to RI? Adita said, the existence of the two aircraft was in the context of maintenance by GMF Aero Wisata (GMF). Licensing was submitted by PT. Universal Space Services (JAS).

“Aircraft maintenance is entirely the domain of the company, in this case GMF with a ‘business to business’ scheme with aircraft operators or their representatives,” he explained.

On May 22, 2023, JAS submitted a flight clearance for the two aircraft that had completed maintenance. Finally, the permit was issued and the two planes left RI.
