Jakarta

A foreign national (foreigner) from China with the initials XM (42) was beaten by three men in Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (Kalsel). XM was beaten up for refusing to give money to the perpetrators to buy liquor.

“It is true that there was a crime of beating, at that time the victim was abused by 3 villagers because (the victim) did not give money to buy alcohol,” said Head of Public Relations of the Kotabaru Police, Iptu Agus Iriyanto, as reported by Antara detikSulselSunday (27/8/2023).

The beating incident occurred at a shop on Jalan Trans Kalimantan Province-Team KM 375, Taurung Hamlet, Sungai Durian District, Kotabaru, Thursday (24/8) at around 20.00 WITA. The three perpetrators each had the initials BR, FJ and GR.

Agus said the victim initially came to the shop in a drunken state. The victim was then involved in an argument with one of the perpetrators, namely BR.

After the dispute the victim then left the shop to the motorbike parking lot. At that time, the three perpetrators followed the victim and asked for some money to buy alcohol.

“The victim at that time refused to give and in the end the victim hit BR in the face causing a hand-to-hand fight between the two, but at that time the other two perpetrators broke up,” he explained.
