Foreign Ministry: US does not plan to postpone Zelensky’s visit

Dmitry Kuleba commented on the preparation of Zelensky’s visit to the United States

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry does not see indicators that the trip of the Ukrainian president to Washington may be postponed again.

Washington did not send any signals to Ukraine about the possibility of postponing the visit of President Volodymyr Zelensky to the United States. Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced this on Friday, August 27, on the air of the Ukraine 24 TV channel.

“As of now, there are no indicators from Washington about the possibility of postponing the visit. Yesterday, active preparations continued in Washington for the visit of the President of Ukraine from the American side,” Kuleba said, answering the question whether the situation in Afghanistan will affect Zelensky’s visit to the United States.

At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that the visit of the Prime Minister of Israel to the United States was not planned to be postponed either.

“Just on the very day when Joe Biden was supposed to meet with the Israeli prime minister, a terrorist attack took place that killed more than a dozen American servicemen,” Kuleba said, adding that the visit was postponed to the next day.

Recall US President Joe Biden will receive Vladimir Zelensky at the White House on August 30.

Earlier, the press secretary of President Vladimir Zelensky Sergei Nikiforov said details of the visit of the head of the Ukrainian state to the United States.
