The Foreign Ministry ordered a purchase, in the first days of December, for the acquisition of 31 new Ford brand 4×4 hybrid trucks, which will be used for the entity’s directors and diplomats visiting the country.
According to information from LA FM, the acquisition process is found on the State purchasing page and provides details of the costs. The contractor is the Unión Temporal Motorysa CasaToro and the contract should materialize in the coming weeks.
The total value for the acquisition of the 31 trucks is $6,246,029,073 and restores an adaptation of additional accessories for $121,359,203.
“31 FORD brand trucks acquired by the Colombian platform Compra Eficiente, through the Framework Price Agreement. This is a process that began more than 3 years ago to replace the Ministry’s vehicle fleet, which is more than 11 years old and far exceeds the 6 years that legal provisions establish for official vehicles. The vehicles transport the diplomatic missions that arrive in the country and management personnel of the Ministry,” The Foreign Ministry told La FM.
However, it is not clear why the Foreign Ministry is hiring 31 new 4×4 trucks for its executives, if President Gustavo Petro has repeatedly requested austerity and less expensive purchases in the executive’s entities.
