Mexico City. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) and its head, Alicia Bárcena, congratulated Mexican Prisca Awiti on Tuesday for winning the silver medal in the women’s judo discipline at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Through messages on her official social media accounts, Bárcena Ibarra said that Awiti is a national pride for Mexico.
“Prisca Awiti has made history by winning a silver medal in women’s judo, the first medal for our country in this discipline. Congratulations on this great achievement that fills Mexico with joy! Your effort and dedication are a source of national pride🥈 #VamosMéxico #Paris2024,” she posted.

Prisca Guadalupe Awiti Alcaraz, born in London, United Kingdom, on February 20, 1996. She is the daughter of a Mexican mother.
