Foreign ministries of Latin America work on a joint evacuation plan from Ukraine: Chileans will move to Poland

Latin American governments are holding negotiations with a view to collaborating in the assistance of their respective citizens in Ukraine, even with a joint evacuation plan that allows solving the logistical problems of these last days.

Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay, Paraguay, Mexico, Colombia, Bolivia and Ecuador are part of this group that has agreed to “work together”, the Argentine Foreign Ministry reported at the end of a “technical meeting” between the different governments.

This “consular cooperation mechanism” aims to exchange information and also to achieve future transfers. “The implementation of an evacuation plan will be advanced when security conditions on the ground can be guaranteed through safe corridors,” the note states.

Within the framework of the deployment carried out by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to go to the aid of nationals residing in Ukraine, the Embassy of Chile in Poland established a collaboration agreement with its counterpart from Colombia for the establishment of two reception centers for nationals from both countries and their families arriving in Poland.

The venues are located at:

  • Agritourism farm SPICHLERZ Wożuczyn. Wożuczyn Wożuczyn 13, 22-640 Wożuczyn, cerca de la frontera en Hrebenne.
  • Wapowce 78A, Przemyśl, 37-700. This center thanks to the collaboration of Colombia.

In the center managed by Chile, there will be two officials from the Consulate in Warsaw, who will be available from this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (Polish time) to serve Chileans who arrive at the site, the Foreign Ministry explained in a statement.

“This collaborative alliance with the Colombian embassy will also support the coordination of transportation to other cities, provide temporary accommodation, manage procedures at border control posts, issue documents, among others,” reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
