Hanoi (VNA) – As part of his official visit to Russia, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son visited on September 25 officials and executives of the Vietnamese Embassy, exemplary Vietnamese businessmen and representatives of the Vietnamese community in this country.
Minister Bui Thanh Son briefed them on the socio-economic situation, COVID-19 prevention and control work in Vietnam as well as the results of recent high-level external activities, including the official visit of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Cuba and its participation in the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
As for Vietnam-Russia relations, the Minister Bui Thanh Son stressed that the Party and the State of Vietnam attach particular importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and Russia, referring to the main pillars of bilateral relations, including security and defense, energy, oil and gas , education and training.
Recalling Conclusion No. 12-KL / TW on Vietnamese-related work abroad in the new situation, the Minister reaffirmed that the Vietnamese diaspora abroad is an inseparable part of the Vietnamese nation and constitutes an important resource contributing to national development.
During the meeting, Minister Bui Thanh Son gave the Prime Minister’s satisfaction to the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia and to the President of the Association of Vietnamese in Russia, Do Xuan Hoang.
Also on this occasion, the Minister received a donation of $ 135,000 collected by the Association of Vietnamese in Russia to support the fight against COVID-19 in Vietnam.
On September 26, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son went to flower the monument of President Ho Chi Minh in Moscow. -VNA
