China News Service, December 13 (Xinhua) Reuters quoted Dutch media RTL Nieuws as reporting on the 12th that due to security issues with ITTF servers, passport details and vaccination certificates of hundreds of players were leaked of ping pong. Among them, the passport information of Chinese athletes Ma Long and Fan Zhendong were also leaked.
In response, an ITTF spokesperson replied: “An independent technical expert drew our attention to a security issue on the server. The ITTF gained access immediately upon learning of this. The file is only stored here for a short period of time. For some time, we had no evidence of access to personal information prior to the reports in question.”
The spokesperson also said the agency regretted the incident and had contacted affected member associations.
