Forecast for Decrease in Geomagnetic Activity on February 3-4, 2024 Published by NOAA SWPC

A decrease in geomagnetic activity is expected in the near future.

Forecast of solar and geomagnetic activity for February 3-4, 2024 published US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Space Weather Prediction Center.

Geomagnetic storms are classified by power level – K-index – from 2 to 9. The higher the K-index, the stronger the storm and its consequences and impact on people and equipment.

Note that the forecast may still change, as solar activity researchers update their data every three hours.

The period of strong magnetic storms that began on January 22 is finally coming to an end. February 3rd geomagnetic activity with K-index 3 (green level) is expected – moderate magnetic disturbance, which corresponds to a weak magnetic storm, but already February 4 The magnetosphere will be normal.
