Forecast: Elias Depression to Bring Heavy Rains and Snowfall in Turkey, Syria, and Lebanon

Father Elie Khneisser, a specialist in weather conditions and climatology, indicated that the “Elias” depression will expand in Turkey, saturated with the moisture of the Black Sea, and that its impact will begin on the coast of Syria and Lebanon as of Sunday afternoon with scattered (not comprehensive) rains that will intensify in the evening with a lightning strike rate of up to 65%. It will be cold and will subside before noon on Wednesday.

The first share of precipitation: the coast of Syria and the Lebanese coastline from Damour towards Tripoli with the western mountains.

He pointed out that the Elias depression will flood northern Turkey and many areas of it with floods and torrents in the coming hours, and snow storms in the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia and northern Turkey, considering that it is the first depression that will hit Lebanon for this season.
