Ford will stop selling previously popular Fiesta, Galaxy and S-MAX models in the Czech Republic in 2023

The American car manufacturer Ford has started a dramatic change in its model range on the European and, by extension, the Czech market. Cars that were among the best sellers not only in their segment, but also in general, a few years ago will also fall victim to it.

“We will stop selling models this year Fiesta, Galaxy a S-MAX,” confirmed Ford’s domestic country manager Libor Beneš. Another big name, model Focusshould be maintained until 2025 at the latest. And the end of the import of some other models is also being considered.

None of the trio of cars, whose sales are ending, achieved dizzying numbers last year. According to data from the Association of Automobile Importers, Fiesta sold 583 units (80th place among all models), S-MAX 280 units (124th place) and Galaxy 128 units (165th place) on the Czech market.

The best-selling Ford on the Czech market was the SUV Plague (1796 units, 21st place) a Puma (1432 pcs, 26th place). Overall, Ford sold 7,399 new cars last year in a declining passenger car market, five percent more than last year, according to the SDA, boosting market share. Among all brands, it took seventh place, improving by one place year-on-year.
