Ford has developed a unique concept in preparation for the SEMA car show, which is held annually in the American city of “sins” in Las Vegas. Ford traditionally wants to excel at home as much as possible, which it could do with a pickup truck.

The concept is called the F-100 Eluminator and stands for a custom-made chassis developed jointly by Ford Performance and MLe Racecars. The body then looks exactly like the 1978 F100 pick-up, but under the hood is the latest twin-engine electric unit with 480 horsepower from the Ford Mustang Mach-E in the most powerful GT version.

In addition to the powerful electric motor, the car also received reduced racing suspension, custom-made wheels and special Avalanche Gray paint. The interior then combines tradition and innovation again. For example, the doors have been preserved, but there is also a giant infotainment display, a modern steering wheel and a display instead of the instrument panel. The driver can then look forward to leather sports seats.

Ford created the concept to highlight the Ford Eluminator program, through which customers can order the entire powertrain from the latest electric Mustang from the carmaker. The unit costs $ 3,900, or approximately 90,000 crowns, and Ford has prepared it specifically for American car repairers who are involved in, for example, veteran renovations.

“Electric power is fun and our industry is moving forward. Everything has to move towards electromobility, whether it’s racing, renovations or the aftermarket, ”said Ford Performance Director Mark Rushbrook, who believes people will soon want traditional veterans with state-of-the-art engines.
