Ford Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier: Features, Pricing, and Availability in 2022

The production of Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier will start this year at the Ford Otosan factory in Craiova. Launch prices start from 15,550 euros without VAT (18,504 euros with VAT) for the Transit Courier and from 18,100 euros without VAT for the Tourneo Courier (21,539 euros with VAT).

Courier will be available in three body versions: Transit Van, Transit Double Cab and Tourneo. The first two can be equipped with both petrol engines – 1.0 EcoBoost and diesel engines – 1.5 EcoBlue, and the latter only with petrol units. E-Transit Courier and E-Tourneo Courier will debut later, in 2024.

The technology package offered as standard equipment includes the SYNC4 multimedia system with AppleCar Play and Android Auto wireless connectivity and the Co-Pilot 360 assistance system.

“The Transit Courier represents a new beginning for Ford in the segment it competes in, being built to meet our customers’ needs for productivity, efficiency and durability. I trust that the market will appreciate the interior dimensions that have increased significantly, but also the generous equipment that we propose since the basic version. Ford Pro is the undisputed leader of the commercial vehicle market in Europe and we are glad that, thanks to the new Transit Courier, we will play an even more important role in the segment in which it competes in the market. Also, the Ford Transit Center authorized dealer network is ready to advise customers on the technical side of the product, but also to offer after-sales solutions and streamlined financing and operating costs”, said Roxana Capătă, Managing Director of Ford Romania Services.

The configurator is already online for the Transit Courier and the Tourneo Courier. You can also access the product pages for the two models – Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier.

Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier will be manufactured in the Ford Otosan plant in Craiova. Orders are already open, and the first deliveries are scheduled for the end of this year.

The Transit Courier can be ordered in two engine versions – 1.0 EcoBoost (100 HP / 125 HP) or 1.5 EcoBlue (100 HP), both mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. Optionally, customers can opt for a 7-speed automatic gearbox, available for the 125 hp petrol unit. The Tourneo Courier is offered in only one petrol engine version – 1.0 EcoBoost with 125 HP, available with both a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier benefit from a rich package of standard equipment, including: manual air conditioning, SYNC4 multimedia system with 8-inch screen and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Co-Pilot 360 assistance package (pre-collision assistance, intelligent speed assistance, lane keeping system, traffic sign recognition, rear parking sensors) and headlights with automatic high beam and daytime running lights.

The Transit Courier’s completely new body design allows for increased load capacity in all directions. The width between the rear wheel arches is 1,222 mm, allowing the compact van to transport two Euro pallets for the first time. The total cargo volume is now 2.9 m3, 25% more than the previous model. The new bulkhead loading option allows customers to transport items such as planks or pipes over 2,600mm long.

The Tourneo Courier is a multipurpose vehicle, developed to carry five adults and their luggage comfortably and with high practicality, integrating a 60/40 split rear seat with 44% more luggage space than the previous Tourneo Courier. Occupants also benefit from improved shoulder and headroom, as well as a range of smart storage options, including a configurable center console. Safety is a priority for the Tourneo Courier, which is equipped as standard with a central airbag, which opens between the driver and the front passenger.
