Ford decided to demonstrate the off-road qualities of the new Bronco in a short video. For this purpose, the car was sent to the rocky and desert surroundings of the city of Moab, where it travels on the most difficult road, called the “Gates of Hell”. The video appeared on Facebook. American racer Lauren Healy drives the car. To complicate the task, she decides to reverse the car. Judging by the video, this task does not create much difficulty for the SUV.
Bronco Sport is equipped with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine. The engine power is 184 hp and maximum torque – 258 Newton meters. The range of engines also includes a two-liter unit with a power of 249 hp. and 373 newton meters of peak torque. Both engines work together with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The ground clearance of the Bronco is 294 mm. Ford calls this a record for this class of car. The depth of the ford, which can be overcome, is 85 centimeters.
It will be recalled that General Motors recently sent several Hummer electric pickups for testing in the vicinity of the city of Moab. In extreme conditions, the Americans tested work of the adaptive air suspension with the possibility to increase the ground clearance by about 15 centimeters. GM also showed “cancer mode” in action. This feature allows the car to move diagonally.
