Ford: sales down 26.9% in the US in June

(CercleFinance.com) – Ford on Friday reported a 26.9% year-on-year drop in sales in the United States for the month of June, to exactly 115,789 units.

The second American manufacturer explains this decline by supply problems and the rapid turnover of its stocks, which penalized the activity of its dealers.

Over the first six months of the year, the Dearborn (Michigan) group, however, posted sales up 4.9% on the American market, to 996,661 units.

In its press release, Ford welcomes in particular the record levels reached by its sales of electric vehicles, which represented 56,570 units sold, a jump of 117% year-on-year.

Ford shares were down 0.2% on the New York Stock Exchange on Friday after the figures were released.
