Ford Recalls Small SUVs Over Fuel Injector Concerns

Ford Motor Co. has initiated a recall of tens of thousands of small SUVs due to concerns regarding cracked fuel injectors that could potentially leak. This poses an increased risk of sparks and potential engine fires.

Recall Details

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has posted a notice stating that the recall affects certain 2022-2023 Bronco Sport and 2022 Escape models equipped with 1.5-liter engines. A total of 42,652 vehicles are affected by this recall.

Addressing the Issue

According to the NHTSA, Ford aims to resolve the issue by updating the engine control software of the affected vehicles to include fuel injector leak detection. Additionally, the company will be installing a drain tube.

Notification Process
