Ford Otosan takes over the Ford plant in Craiova, starting with the third quarter of 2022, Ford announced. Specifically, Ford of Europe transfers ownership of the plant from Romania to Ford Otosan. The transaction is 575 + 140 million Euros, and because the transaction takes place within a business group in which Ford is strongly involved, the operation is called “transfer of ownership”, not “actual sale”.

From the point of view of operations in Romania, the plant in Craiova will continue to produce the EcoSport and Puma models. When EcoSport goes out of production, until the end of 2022, only the Puma car will remain in production in Craiova.
Puma will also have a full electric version from 2024, which will also be produced in Romania. The electric propulsion system of the Puma model will be similar to that of the Transit Courier and Tourneo Courier models, which will also have electric variants from 2024. And these models will also be manufactured in Romania.
