Ford Mustang Mach-E – Delayed!

(Elbil24): Although it is not at all unusual with long waiting lists for electric cars, Elbil24’s survey shows that there is good access to many popular models in the market.

However, there are several of this year’s announced news that come later than first estimated, often several months.

Corona-factor

There are several reasons, but one of the most important is that chip and semiconductor manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand.

This is equipment that is not only used in electric cars, but also in mobile phones and other communication equipment, PCs, TVs and other gadgets – which have experienced a sharp upswing in sales during the corona crisis.

Several months late

Now the industry website reports BilNytt.no that one of the hottest electric car news of the year is severely delayed, due to challenges related to logistics – but also quality problems that must be solved. The car in question is the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which according to what we experience, has been ordered by several thousand Norwegians.

Mustang Mach-E, which was expected just over the New Year, has at the time of writing only been registered in 23 copies in Norway.

The car is now undergoing further quality checks, writes Bilnytt. In practice, this means that in the beginning there are significantly fewer copies coming to Norway than first anticipated. The first cars will be in place this March, and according to Elbilstatistikk.no, four copies have been registered this month.

– Should not do as some other manufacturers

– Everyone wants cars as soon as possible, and it has therefore gone a little too fast in the turns in the entire electric car industry. New launches have not been painless for anyone. Our cars should be ready when they reach the customers. Ford will not do as some other manufacturers and send out cars that are not finished, says head of Ford’s dealership, Arild Odden, to BilNytt.no.

Information director Anne Sønsteby at Ford Motor Norway, states to the industry website that the majority of the first months’ orders are delivered in April and May.

When Elbil24 was in contact with Sønsteby last week, she suggested that those who order the car now, can expect delivery in the third quarter – that is, once between July and September.
