We haven’t driven or seen it yet, or Ford already has a more powerful version of the electric Mustang ready.
This year, Ford launched the electric Mustang Mach-E. This electric SUV is currently available in 4 flavors, being the RWD (rear-wheel drive) with 76 kWh battery, the RWD with 99 kWh, the AWD (four-wheel drive) with 76 kWh, or the AWD with 99 kWh. In addition, there is also one GT in the pipeline, which offers four-wheel drive, 99 kWh and extra power.
And today Ford released the pictures and specifications of the ultra-powerful “GT Performance”. It is four-wheel drive and has 480 hp (358 kW). He does the obligatory 0 to 100 sprint in 3.6 seconds.
Take it from us, that’s fast. But if you still want to compare; a Jaguar I-Pace does it in 4.8 seconds. A Tesla Model X (Performance) in 2.8 seconds. A Tesla Model S, which as a sedan of course has its aerodynamics with it, in 2.5 seconds.
A 99 kWh battery (88 kWh usable) gives the GT Performance a realistic driving range of approximately 350 km. If you really go crazy for the track, the range will of course be a lot lower.
With the arrival of the GT and GT Performance, the electric Mustang range will consist of no less than six versions. We can only expect the first deliveries of the GT and GT Performance in Europe at the end of 2021 or early 2022. European prices will be announced later.
