Ford expands the Kuga range with new full-hybrid engine, capable of offering more than 1,000 km of hybrid and electric driving between refueling, without the need to use an external power source to recharge the battery.
Speaking of battery, that of Kuga is 1.1 kWh and easy to manage, it recharges automatically both thanks to the petrol engine with 2.5 Atkinson cycle and by using regenerative charging while driving or recovering the braking energy. The stored energy powers the electric motor, improves performance and fuel efficiency. Kuga Hybrid automatically switches between configurations according to the driving scenario. The full-hybrid powertrain delivers all the efficiency and precision of pure electric power without the need to recharge from an external power source, along with the convenience of over 1,000km of range.
Roelant de Waard, Vice President, Marketing, Sales & Service, Ford of Europe, says: “Each of our electrified Kuga models offers a unique set of benefits. For our Kuga Hybrid, which includes fuel efficiency and a range to rival the diesel version, we offer Intelligent All-Wheel Drive and the simplicity of cable-free charging, combined with the serenity of driving in mode. exclusively electric. Ford is committed to offering a wide selection of electrified models for every customer to find the perfect solution that suits your needs “.

Kuga Hybrid is part of the 17 Ford electrified models which will be launched in Europe by the end of next year; production is now underway at the Valencia plant in Spain. This completes the range of the most electrified Ford model ever, joining the Plug-In and EcoBlue Hybrid engines, together with the traditional petrol and diesel engines for the widest possible choice.
This new version of Kuga (we also saw its new technology that it “sees” everywhere), let’s not forget, it offers the extraordinary possibility of travel over 1,000 km on a single tank of fuel, which makes it a valid alternative to diesel engines. With fuel efficiency of 5.4 l / 100 km and CO2 emissions of 125 g / km WLTP together with a 54-liter fuel tank, the total range of the Kuga Hybrid is 30% greater than that of the Plug version -In Hybrid.
Kuga Hybrid is a very interesting alternative for those who want an electrified powertrain, but have limited access to external charging solutions at home or in the workplace, thanks to its autonomy that allows them not to have to use an external power source for recharge the battery. The new Kuga Hybrid can be ordered in various versions, Connect, ST Line, ST Line X and Vignale, offering a wide range of driver assistance technologies, comfort and convenience. The driving experience in the vehicle is enhanced with the availability of an advanced range of driver assistance technologies, designed to offer greater safety behind the wheel and support concentration while on the move.
