Ford introduces the Transit electric model. It will travel 350 kilometers on a single charge

Ford executives unveiled the commercial vehicle during an online press conference and believe that its long-term development in collaboration with industry experts will make it the most versatile power supply on the market. According to Ford CEO Jim Farley, numerous surveys among ordinary users have also greatly helped.

Ford has not changed the look of the car, so the electric version in the exterior is practically no different from a normal transit. The most important thing is happening under the hood. The floor of the vehicle contains lithium-ion batteries made in Poland, which have a capacity of 67 kWh and allow the car to travel up to 350 kilometers on a single charge, which should surpass all large electrical supplies on the market.

In the special “L” driving mode, the range should be approximately 8-10% longer.

The electric motor itself has an output of 269 hp and a torque of 430 Nm. It sends them to the rear axle. The 67 kWh battery will charge in about 8 hours from a standard outlet, but on a quick charger it will reach 15 to 80% of its capacity in less than 40 minutes.

Ford batteries are guaranteed for eight years or a range of 160,000 kilometers. In addition, the batteries are equipped with water cooling, which significantly extends their life.

Ford believes the electric transit will become the most popular EV van on the market.

In the basic version, Ford did not compromise on capacity, and thanks to the use of excess space, the E-Transit will offer the same cargo space as the diesel model, ie 15.1 square meters. In addition, E-Transit will be available in Europe in up to 25 different configurations.

For example, the car will allow business owners to monitor whether drivers are complying with speed and regulations. The interior also includes a large, 12-inch infotainment screen with the Ford Sync 4 entertainment system, which can be updated remotely from the manufacturer. The specialty is the on-board charger Pro Power Onboard, which offers a 2.3 kW socket. Users can connect various electrical devices to the car.

Next year, Ford intends to test its innovation directly with selected customers. It was not until 2022 that the car should finally arrive on European markets. The price is not yet completely clear. There is talk that E-Transit will be sold below one million crowns in the USA. How it will be in the Czech Republic cannot be determined so far in advance.
