Ford F-150 Lightning is selling well, orders reach up to 130 thousand units

The Ford F-150 Lightning electric pickup is increasingly in demand. The company revealed that 130,000 units of the car have been ordered by consumers since its launch.

Quoted from Electrek, the announcement was delivered directly by Ford Communications Director North America, Mike Levine via social media Twitter. In his tweet, Mike revealed that 130 thousand units of Ford’s electric pickup had been ordered.

“Orders for the electric Ford F-150 Lightning have now surpassed the 130,000 mark,” wrote Mike Levine on his Twitter account.

Since it was first launched, the F-150 Lightning electric pickup has stolen the attention of a number of people. Even since the first day it was inaugurated, Ford immediately received orders for 20,000 units.

Then within two days of being launched, the F-150 Lightning has been ordered by as many as 44,000 units by consumers. This is also inseparable from the cheap booking fee, it is enough to pay US $ 100 or around Rp. 1.4 million consumers can already order an electric pickup through the official Ford website.

To meet the high demand, Ford plans to increase the number of F-150 Lightning units in the factory. The company has prepared funds of US$ 850 million or around Rp 12 trillion to increase the production of the electric pickup.

By 2024, Ford plans to produce as many as 80,000 F-150 Lightning pickup units per year, from only 40,000 units per year previously. But all of that is done slowly, Ford will increase its production by around 15,000 units next year, then again increase to 55,000 units in 2023, before touching the figure of 80,000 units per year according to its target.

Discussing the specifications, the Ford F-150 Lightning is equipped with 2 battery packs that are installed on the floor of the car. A standard range battery (SR) can make this car go up to 230 miles (370 km), while a battery with long range capability (ER) can make this electric car go up to 300 miles (482 km).

Regarding power, with the SR battery this pickup can produce 426 hp (318 kilowatts) of power output, while the ER battery can produce 563 hp (420 kilowatts). Then for the torque itself can produce about 1,051 Nm.

The company from the United States plans to launch the electric pickup in mid-2022. That way, Ford will continue to increase its production at the factory so that it can fulfill orders from consumers.
