Ford Explorer Kunlun Summit Edition introduced. According to the company, this is a special version for those who like to get deeper into the wilds or mud.
The Ford Explorer, although a large SUV, is not particularly “passable”: its element is asphalt and a country road (unless, of course, we talk about special versions – for example, for the American police). That is why a civilian special version was recently introduced in China, which is already quite suitable for regular trips to nature. The updated Explorer is called the Kunlun Summit Edition.
The car differs from the regular version with orange accents on the rims, two orange-painted towing lugs, Bridgestone “scalloped” off-road tires, increased ground clearance by 3 cm, a redesigned rear end with hidden exhaust pipes. There is, of course, all-wheel drive with a Torsen differential on the rear axle.
The driving force behind this all-terrain vehicle is a 2.3-liter Ecoboost turbo engine with a capacity of 276 horsepower. The engine is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
In China, the car is available in two versions – for 6 and 7 seats. The cost of new $56,500.
