Ford Explorer got a huge screen, so far only for the Chinese market

American and Chinese engineering cooperation. This is how the Ford dealership in China describes the newly introduced Ford Explorer 2023. They even talk about it as a completely new model, but we know that it is only a facelift version, which we also know from Czech roads.

The novelty has a redesigned front mask, a wider radiator grille and newly built LED headlights. The side profile then reveals new, 21-inch wheels, and the rear view again shows wider lights and a distinctive Explorer lettering that replaces the Ford logo. On the contrary, it is moved lower between the lights.

After the facelift, the Ford Explorer received a central screen extending to the passenger only in China.

The biggest change can be considered the interior, which is now dominated by a huge infotainment screen with a diagonal of 27 inches, which originally came from the purely Chinese Ford Evos model. Thanks to the display, most of the buttons have disappeared from the center console, but the driver still has a digital instrument panel at his disposal.

Ford will start accepting orders for the new version of the Explorer in China on August 11, and the representative there claims that the changes only apply to the Chinese version of the popular SUV. In the US or Europe, the Explorer as we know it today should continue to be sold, at least for the time being. In 2024, Ford will introduce its electric version in Europe as well.
