Forced to Sell Cooking Oil for Rp. 14,000 per Liter, Dizzy Traders!

Jakarta

Policy cooking oil one price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter makes the food traders dizzy. This policy is considered confusing and not difficult to implement in the market.

Traders are confused because it is difficult to sell old stock cooking oil at a purchase price according to the market. However, if you force to sell Rp. 14 thousand per liter according to the government’s recommendation, you will end up losing money.

“Because we stocked up, then the one-price policy was knocked. So what about our old stock, which we bought at a high price? We want to sell it at a loss,” said one basic food trader at Kramat Jati Market, who did not want to be named, when contacted. detik.com, Friday (28/1/2022).

On the other hand, the trader has tried to order a new stock of cooking oil at a price that matches the selling price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter. But according to him, the cheap cooking oil does not exist in stock.

“Someone has offered us a distributor price to sell for Rp. 14 thousand, but the goods are not there. I tried to order yesterday, nothing, it was not sent,” he said.

“It’s even like the price is there, the goods are not there,” he continued.

Instead of selling at a loss, he finally chose to sell cooking oil at the purchase price, the trader was reluctant to sell cooking oil at a price of Rp. 14 thousand per liter.

“It’s better if I don’t sell Rp. 14 thousand first, it’s better. After all, in the end, many also buy one or two, because they are said to be rare in minimarkets or even long queues,” he said.
