Actress Gal Gadot served in the past for the Israeli army, the IDF. That now appears to cause controversy and has even led to her new film, Death on the Nile banned in two countries.
Running since this week Death on the Nilethe director’s second Agatha Christie film adaptation Kenneth Branagh in the cinema. But Deadline reports that Kuwait and Lebanon will not screen the film.

According to the government in Kuwait, the decision has been taken to “ethical reasons”† It would not be possible to see a film with a cast member who (as they describe it) was involved in the occupation of Palestine.
Gadot herself sparked controversy in May 2021, when she eventually shut down comments on a social media post criticized by many for condoning the IDF’s attacks on the Gaza Strip.
Death on the Nile by the way, it can be seen in cinemas in most countries in the Middle East.
