Monday evening the second season of De MUG, the reporter series that dives behind the scenes of the emergency department of the Antwerp hospital ZNA Stuivenberg. The new series will start a week earlier than planned, because one episode of the program Axel enters was not broadcast at the last minute.

That was the episode of September 7, in which Axel Daeseleire visited the forensic psychiatric center in Ghent. There he had a conversation with a 33-year-old man who was interned for sexual offenses. However, that man’s lawyer went to court to stop the fragments with his client. The court followed him and imposed a ban on VTM. If they do broadcast the images, they must pay a penalty of 10,000 euros per infringement, with a maximum of 250,000 euros.
VTM deeply regretted that she was not heard by the court and filed an appeal. The investigation is currently ongoing. ‘We want to demonstrate that this program was produced with the necessary permissions and respect. We now await further investigation with confidence. ‘
Whether we will ever see the episode in question is therefore not yet clear.
