Forbes magazine compiled the 36th ranking of the richest people in the world. Due to the pandemic, the war and declining stock markets, the number of billionaires is lower than last year. In the first place is Tesla boss Elon Musk, who succeeded Amazon founder Jeff Bezos in the first place.
The number of billionaires is according to Forbes magazine compared to the previous ranking, it decreased from 2,775 people to 2,668. The number of billionaires decreased, for example, in Russia; after the invasion of Ukraine, there were 34 fewer of them than last year. China has seen another decline in the number of billionaires.
The combined wealth of the richest people on the planet is $ 12.7 trillion, which is 400 billion less than last year. The first place belongs to the entrepreneur Elon Musek, whose fortune reaches up to 219 billion dollars (4.8 trillion crowns). He replaced Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who has assets worth $ 171 billion (3.7 trillion crowns), at the top of the list. He is followed by French businessman Bernard Aurnault and his family, Microsoft founder Bill Gates and American investor Warren Buffet.
The richest woman in the world is French Françoise Bettencourt Meyers, the company’s heiress L’Oreal. Its assets are estimated at $ 74.8 billion (1.6 trillion crowns). It has become rich by $ 1.2 billion (26.6 billion crowns) since last year. He is thus the fourteenth richest person in the world.
Nine Czechs also made it to the Forbes magazine. The richest of them is Renata Kellnerová with her family, the widow of PPF founder Petr Kellner. Forbes estimates Kellner’s fortune at 365 billion crowns, ranking 104th in the world. However, the inheritance proceedings have not yet been formally completed. PPF focuses on financial services, telecommunications, real estate, engineering and more. Nova TV also belongs to the group.
The second place among the richest Czechs went to Karel Komárek with 7.7 billion dollars (169 billion crowns). Komárek is the owner of the KKCG investment group, which focuses on lotteries, oil and natural gas, technology and real estate. Real estate magnate Radovan Vítek came in third, with an estimated $ 5.8 billion (127 billion crowns) in assets.
The nine Czechs mentioned also include Daniel Křetínský, Andrej Babiš, Pavel Tykač, Pavel Baudiš, Marek Dospiva and Eduard Kučera.
