NHK has released the main visual for the taiga drama “Hikaru Kimi e”, which will begin broadcasting on January 7, 2024. The main character is Mahiro Murasaki Shikibu, who wrote the bestseller “The Tale of Genji” during the Heian period, which has been around for over a thousand years, and stars Yuriko Yoshitaka.
Murasaki Shikibu weaves the story of Hikaru Genji = Hikaru-kun, using his feelings for Fujiwara Michinaga (Yu Emoto), his hidden passion, and his unique imagination. A story of a woman who lived her life with unchanging love in her heart in a changing world.
In addition to Yoshitaka and Emoto, the cast includes Haru Kuroki, Arata Iura, Yo Yoshida, Yusuke Santamaria, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Goro Kishitani, and Yasunori Danda. The author is Shizuka Oishi, who worked on the historical drama “Kumei ga Tsuji” and other works, the music is by Yumi Fuyuno, and the narration is by announcer Toshie Ito. Production supervisors are Yuki Uchida and Takehiro Matsuzono.
The broadcast will be broadcast every Sunday from 8:00 pm starting January 7, 2024. BS/BS Premium 4K is available every Sunday at 18:00, and BS Premium 4K is available every Sunday at 12:15. The program will also be rebroadcast the following Saturday from 1:15 p.m.

Of the many photos of Yoshitaka-san, who looks so beautiful in her costume, this one really caught my attention. It’s like you’re smiling at someone, like you’re looking inside yourself. He seems calm, as if he is holding back the fluctuations in his heart. I was convinced that our “Mahiro” was in this expression that I couldn’t capture and couldn’t take my eyes off of.
Mahiro is a beautiful, graceful, and mysterious woman. We believe that by delivering this main visual, you will be able to think about Mahiro’s character and her life, and look forward to the drama even more.
