For us, elections are not a boxing match or a wrestling match –

/ world today news/ For us, elections are not a boxing match, nor a wrestling competition. We are going as a serious party, together with our partners with whom we have signed an agreement. We are leaving to offer a different reading and politics to the people.”

This was stated by the chairman of the BSP, Mihail Mikov, in the Nova TV studio. “We will leave the sports terminology to GERB and to those who want to use it to displace political representation,” he added. Mikov pointed out that the aim is to shift issues such as: which are the most indebted municipalities in Bulgaria, how several business players rob public contracts in large municipalities, and then do not pay subcontractors and do not complete European projects. “The responsibility must be clear,” he emphasized.

On the subject of Georgi Kadiev, the chairman of the BSP commented that this type of behavior greatly upsets the rank-and-file socialist. “People think that career alone cannot be a motive for participation in politics. Such type of players who go around, the so-called “political nomadism” is a fraud for those who voted for them,” he clarified. Mikov emphasized that this happens in all parties – Zdravko Dimitrov from GERB in Plovdiv and the BASTA party. “For us, this case is closed,” he is emphatic.

Mikov emphasized that BSP LEFT BULGARIA is the main representative of the left. “It is no coincidence that there are two social democratic formations that were in the ABV in the European elections and left to join the BSP coalition,” he recalled. According to him, the left is represented by parties, and the genetic engineering of modern political projects are temporary phenomena. “It is not by chance that the BSP is a more than 120-year-old party,” Mikov also said.

Prof. Mihail Mirchev has very good chances and will reach a runoff in Sofia

The chairman of the BSP is of the opinion that Prof. Mihail Mirchev has very good chances and will reach a runoff in Sofia. “It brings a political element to local elections. “In front of Fandakova’s gray image, he is a bright political personality,” commented Mikov. According to him, there are a number of problems that cannot be solved in Sofia. “Sofia needs a different policy and a different reading of the people’s problems,” the leader of the Socialists is emphatic. According to him, the right-wing model has rebuilt Sofia, turned the gardens into buildings, and the capital is divided into two parts – a shiny showcase and the outer districts, such as Lyulin, for example. He pointed out that the cultural center in this neighborhood is housed in an apartment block and does not have a public sports hall. Mikov also recalled the case with Orlandovtsi.

Regarding other candidacies of the left, the chairman of the BSP explained that the candidate for Vidin is engineer Lyudmil Dimitrov, and the trust in the party chairman has been removed. “He pushed through a decision at the conference that the BSP would not nominate a candidate and support Gergo Gergov – a candidacy that cannot be supported by us,” Mikov explained. According to him, the problem in Shumen will be solved soon. The chairman of the BSP clarified that there is an organizational council in Pazardzhik, because during the conference an attempt was made to push the candidacy of Trendafil Velichkov as a candidate of the BSP. “Now there is an authoritative and well-known candidate, and his name is Stoyan Parpulov,” he added.

Mikov also commented on the scandalous decision of the Central Election Commission, by which it was accepted that the lot with the numbers of the parties for the local vote should be drawn at the central level. “The law says that the lot is drawn in the respective municipality and applies to everyone. The CEC makes a decision against the law. The question then arises as to why we need a law,” he asked. According to him, this decision was made deliberately.

The privatization of secondary education will destroy the achievements that Bulgaria has been accumulating for 120 years

Regarding the education law, Mikov emphasized that 50% of first-year students live in poor families, 20% of children who should go to school drop out, and 13,000 first-year students who were supposed to start this year are not enrolled or are went abroad with their parents. “We want the money from the scarce budget for education not to be directed to private schools, because the privatization of secondary education will destroy those achievements that Bulgaria has accumulated for 120 years. It has always been public and financed for the development of the nation,” Mikov said. He explained that the BSP will insist that funds be provided from the state budget for all those 14 social payments that were suspended. “We want to return a 10% discount for the working poor, about 300,000 people in Bulgaria,” he added.

In connection with the position of the ambassadors in the discussion of the anti-corruption law, the chairman of the BSP commented that periodically groups of ambassadors tell us how things are in our country. “I’m amazed because they represent their countries and I don’t know if they have a mandate from their ministers to have this type of behavior that goes beyond their functions and interferes with the legislative process. The responsibility for the decisions is borne by those who vote, not by those who write letters,” concluded Mikhail Mikov.
