For the time being, Airbnb does not have to deliver any user data to the city of New York

The online platform for the brokerage of holiday accommodation and activities does not have to comply with a law for the time being that would have obliged New Yorkers to give the administration information about who is renting a place in the city via Airbnb.

The stock market aspirant Airbnb has achieved a stage win in the dispute with the New York City Council. A district court in Manhattan has ruled that the online platform for the brokerage of holiday accommodation and vacation activities and that competitors such as Homeaway do not have to comply with a law passed by the New York City Parliament in July for the time being. The law would have obliged companies to provide the administration with regular information from February 2 on who is renting something where in New York via Airbnb.
