Al-Duhail ended Al-Sadd’s domination of the Qatar Cup title by defeating it with two unanswered goals today, Thursday, in the final match.
Al-Duhail’s double scored each of its Kenyan scorer Olonga in the forty-eighth minute, before Tunisian Ferjani Sassi added the goal to confirm the victory in the fifty-third minute.
The match witnessed many attempts by both teams in the first half, which ended in a goalless draw.
Al-Duhail imposed his preference, taking advantage of the brilliance of his star Sassi, who sent a measured cross to Ulonga, from which the first goal came, before he took care of himself in adding the second goal by following up with a rebound from Saad Al-Sheeb.
Al Sadd’s success ended in the championship after winning its title 3 times (2017, 2020 and 2021), while Al Duhail won the title twice (2015 and 2018).
