Toyota rider Ojie was ahead of Dani Sordo (Hyundai) by 17.8 seconds after Saturday, December 5, the closest follower of the stage, while overall leader and Ojie teammate Elfin Evans had almost lost hope of fighting for the title, because he had an accident and was almost 19 minutes behind.

On Sunday, Ozier remained unbeaten in the first “dopa”, but won fourth and sixth place in the second and third, respectively. In the second stage, Sordo won, for whom Ojie lost 7.4 seconds, but the fastest in the last “dopa” of the season was the former champion from Estonia Ots Tenaks (“Hyundai”).

Ojie lost seven seconds to the Estonian and was enough to overtake Evans, who was twice fifth on Sunday and won second place once.

The Frenchman scored 122 points overall, while Evans and Tenaks scored 114 and 105 points, respectively. Prior to the Monza stage, Ojie Evans lost 14 points overall and discovered before the race that he had nothing to lose.

In his previous career, Ojie has also won WRC titles with Volkswagen and Ford vehicles.

“I am very happy, but I do not jump in the air for happiness, especially this year many people have suffered greatly,” said Ojie after the success.

It is significant that Lewis Hamilton from Great Britain, the absolute leader of the First Formula One (F-1) series, was also crowned the world champion in motorsport seven times this year. He managed to repeat the record of the legendary Michael Schumacher.

The Frenchman Sebastian Leb has the most victories in the WRC – nine.

Thanks to the performance of Sordo and Tenaka, the Hyundai team managed to win this year’s Constructor’s Cup.

It has already been reported that Latvian rally driver Mārtiņš Sesks and co-driver Renārs Francis were crowned vice-champions in the WRC junior class (JWRC) on Sunday.

Seska and Frances’ crew had an accident in the first stage on Saturday, as a result of which they were taken to the hospital by helicopter, due to which they could not return to the race on Sunday.

In the first stage of the JWRC of the season, Sesks and Francis in Sweden won the second place, conceding only to Christenson, but in the second stage in Estonia they took Latvia’s first victory in this class. In the previous stage in Sardinia, the Sesque was third.
