For the second time this year it is possible to request reimbursement of part of the costs of animal insurance – AgroNews – Agriculture news

The second call for applications for financial assistance in 2022 for poultry, cattle and pig farmers who insure animals against the risk of damage caused by Salmonella will start on 1 December. This support is implemented under the “Risk management” measure of the rural development program for the period 2014-2020.

For the second time this year, you can request a partial refund of your pet insurance costs

Salmonella is most often associated with poultry. However, this bacterium, which is common in the environment, also threatens other animals. The salmonellosis it causes is a disease that farmers can insure against. An incentive for those who are aware of the serious consequences deriving from the identification of the infection on the farm is the “Risk Management” measure financed with the RDP 2014-2020 budget. Another call for proposals has been announced under this support and the full budget is €108 million.

This subsidy can be granted to poultry, cattle and pig farmers who have a registered productive activity and are entitled to land where they raise or rear such animals. In order to become a beneficiary of this aid, you must have a signed insurance contract against the risk of damage caused by Salmonella, demonstrating that at least:

  • 1000 poultry (chickens, geese and turkeys for fattening, laying poultry);
  • 4 head of cattle;
  • 14 pigs.

Interested in this co-financing cannot also take advantage of other insurance subsidies. It is also important that the insurance contract does not cover the period before 1 April 2022.

The aid will be granted in the form of 70%. a supplement to the premium paid, provided that the insurance contract provides that the payment of the indemnity will take place in the event of damage exceeding 20 per cent.

The decision to grant aid is normally issued within 2 months of the date of completion of the call for proposals, provided of course that no additional documents or explanations need to be provided. However, payment is made within 30 days of issuing the decision to grant the aid.

PLN 150,000 per farm. The EC approved the new aid

Applications for financial aid under the “Risk Management” measure can be submitted from 1 to 30 December 2022 at the ARMA poviat offices competent for the place of residence or registered office of the agricultural producer. Documents can be submitted in person, sent by registered mail or via the form available on the ARMA electronic service platform. Applications can also be submitted in electronic format via the ePUAP platform.
