At their general meeting, the Basel-Stadt Greens adopted the slogans for the vote on September 22nd. The Basel-Stadt Greens unanimously recommend that voters vote yes to the biodiversity initiative. This calls for more resources for biodiversity and the protection of habitats for animals and plants.
Wild biodiversity is the source from which our cultivated plants and livestock have emerged and must continue to emerge so that we humans can survive in a constantly changing environment.

For many women, the BVG reform means having less pay in their wallets at the end of the month and still not getting a higher pension in old age. Women still receive a third less pension than men. For this reason, the Swiss Greens want to get back the lost pension year for women. The BVG proposal also brings certain advantages, for example with the adjustment of the coordination deduction. Nevertheless, the members voted against the BVG reform by 24 votes to 17 with three abstentions.
Voting approval for the music diversity initiative – No to motorway expansion
After a lively discussion, the members decided to approve the music diversity initiative by 26 votes to 14, with three abstentions.
The Basel-Stadt Greens unanimously reject the monstrous motorway projects. The Rhine tunnel planned in the Basel region, for example, cements climate-damaging car traffic and will endanger the transport transition towards sustainable goods and personal mobility. The Basel-Stadt Greens will formulate the slogans for the remaining votes on October 21.
