How do you feel after such a match?
MICKAËL CIANI. Pride. Proud to have been on par with Ligue 2, to have had an interesting match. Everyone had hopes and maybe some details were missed, but we did well.
Alexandre Dujeux, the Angevin coach, said he was pleasantly surprised by the game offered by your team.
We are in Regional 1, but we have our way of playing. I asked the boys not to play differently, because we don’t know how to do it. We are not going to invent a role for ourselves, by putting up a wall, by swinging in front and winning the duels in a fight. The duels, of course we have to win them, but then we put the ball on the ground, we repeat the passes, we play the triangles as we worked on in training, we have to find depth, which gave us a little missed today…

Despite the state of the pitch, we managed to put the ball on the ground and get out of the Angevin pressing. At certain times, people must have seen us very beaten, but, with play, we managed to change zones and express ourselves.
What impression did this Angers team make on you?
It’s solid of course, there are still five divisions apart. And they’re not second in Ligue 2 for nothing… Afterwards, I don’t think they were at their best in this particular match.
This fatal disagreement at the end of the first period, what is it attributable to?
It highlights the details that make the difference. I spoke to them about it before the game, and again at halftime. Bad judgment, communication error, lack of concentration… Otherwise, if we had led 1-0, no one would have cried foul. At 0-0 at halftime, we would have found that normal. In reality, we returned to the locker room at 0-1 and we said to ourselves “Too bad”. This is proof that we could aspire to better.
Was it a good idea to welcome this 7th round to Maurice Baquet, despite the work and costs involved?
It was work, it required the mobilization of everyone, but at this stage of the competition, I believe that we must receive, as much as we can, even against professional teams. For the people who have followed us for a long time, for the City, for Houilles, it was perfect.
