For the fourth consecutive week, James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ continued to lead the box office in North American theaters this past weekend, with sales of nearly $45 million.
According to the numbers of the specialist company “Experience Relationships”, the science fiction film produced by the company “20th Century” has made domestic profits totaling $516.8 million since its launch and $1.19 billion globally, making it the seventh highest-grossing film in history.
However, the surprise came in the horror film ‘M3GAN’ produced by ‘Universal’ and ‘Plum House’ which ranked second, grossing $30.2 million in its first few days of its release, surpassing viewers’ expectations.
M3GAN tells the story of a creepy robot originally designed to be the perfect companion for a young orphaned girl.
And “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”, which is related to the “Shrek” series, came in third place. The family film made $13.1 million in its final weekend, bringing its North American total to $87.7 million.
