For the fourth day in a row, a record number of Covid-19 victims / Day was registered in Russia

On Thursday, 672 Covid-19 victims were registered in Russia.

In Moscow and St. Petersburg, 112 and 101 deaths were registered during the last day, respectively.

In Russia, 23,218 new cases of Covid-19 were registered in the past day, and more than 5.5 million people have been confirmed with the new coronavirus in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Russia, 136,565 people have died with Covid-19.

The new coronavirus delta, or Indian strain, is currently spreading rapidly in Russia, but the pace of the vaccination campaign has slowed.

Officials have been accused of hiding the true number of deaths, and Covid-19 casualty statistics include only those cases in which Covid-19 was identified as the leading cause of death at autopsy.

The number of cases in Moscow and St. Petersburg has risen sharply in the last few weeks, and the authorities have lifted restrictions and called for more active vaccinations.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said India’s coronavirus accounts for 90% of new Covid-19 cases in the capital.

To limit the spread of the virus, Sobyanin has ordered companies to organize work from home for 30% of unvaccinated workers, and restaurants will henceforth be allowed to serve only vaccinated people and people who have contracted Covid-19 indoors over the past six months.

Moscow has also become the first Russian city to demand that at least 60% of workers in the service sector be fully vaccinated by mid-August.
