For the first time, the Chinese Foreign Ministry called what is happening in Ukraine a war

The head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry hopes that the war in Ukraine will end as soon as possible.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi publicly called Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a war for the first time. He stated this during video conference talks with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian, informs The Guardian.

“We hope that the fighting and the war will stop as soon as possible,” Wang Yi said.

Wang Yi also urged the international community to take more action to avoid an escalation of hostilities in Ukraine.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke with CCP Chairman Xi Jinping about the situation in Ukraine. Jinping promised to provide Ukraine with humanitarian aid.

Focus previously reported that economic sanctions and the collapse of the ruble led to a reduction in the supply of Chinese smartphones to Russia. We are talking about such well-known brands as Xiaomi, Oppo and Huawei.

China will not risk unlimited access to the world financial market to help Russia, political observers say.
