No new deaths from the new coronavirus have been reported in Madrid in the past 24 hours. It is the first time since the start of the pandemic, local authorities announced on Sunday.

“This is fantastic news. Yesterday / Saturday was the first day (since the start of the health crisis) in which Madrid has had no new deaths, “said regional president Isabel Diaz Ayuso on Twitter.
With 72,000 infections recorded and 8,400 deaths, Madrid is the region of Spain most affected by the coronavirus. Spain, for its part, has identified a total of 248,000 cases of contamination while 28,300 people have died from the disease in the country.
