BWF World Badminton Federation to Update World Rankings Today (8th) Taiwanese sister Tai Tzu-ying lost 9,300 points this week and the world rankings dropped from second to fourth period.
Tai Tzu Ying scored 104,445 points last week. As points from last year’s January 2 Thailand Open were subtracted, they have been replaced by points from this year’s Malaysia Open, Japan Open and French Open. 9,300 points are missing, and this is the first time since 2019 that the world ranking has dropped to number 4.
Tai Tzu Ying still has the year-end finals in December this season, when he is fighting for the championship, he should still improve the world rankings.
At the moment, the last ranking is the Japanese Akane Yamaguchi, firmly behind the world ball with 112,013 points, the South Korean An Se-young in second place with 103,553 points and the Chinese player Chen Yufei in third place with 95,556 points.
