Good news in terms of studying the climate of Mars, the “Perseverance” rover managed to record the sound of the “dust devil” phenomenon, in a very important precedent that will help to better understand the climate of the Red Planet.
In a rare coincidence, on September 27, a 118-meter-high tornado passed over the head of the robot and its “Supercam” instrument, which was equipped with a microphone that recorded the sound of the phenomenon, and the data reached the ground after a few days.
Martian dust eddies, which look like sand eddies that affect some deserts on Earth, are one of the basic weather phenomena on the Red Planet.
